Job Description:
As a key worker in our Healthcare Division, you play a vital role in the success of phs. To our customers, you are the face of the company. Your excellent customer service skills will help keep our customers satisfied and loyal.
As an experienced Class 2 Service Technician, your responsibilities include collecting health-related waste, including pharmaceutical, non-hazardous, hazardous, and clinical waste. Currently, this involves supporting the nation’s Covid testing stations. Whatever your route for the day, you'll be essential in maintaining hygienic and fresh facilities for our customers.
A typical day as a Service Technician at phs includes:
* Following planned routes, using PDA devices to confirm collections and manage site access issues. Experience with in-cab technology, satellite navigation, and smartphones will be helpful.
* Using Soft Compaction Vehicles designed for our services, similar to refuse collection vehicles.
* Emptying and collecting Euro Bins containing offensive waste.
* Supporting Covid testing stations by collecting sealed waste.
* Completing hazardous and transfer notes.
* Returning daily to your depot to unload collected waste.
Ideal candidates for the Service Technician role at phs will:
* Value safety and legal compliance. We welcome applicants with a good safety record.
* Hold a Category C (LGV Class 2) license, current Driver CPC card, and a Digital Tachograph Card.
* Have held a full driving license for at least 12 months, with no more than 6 penalty points and no IN or DD endorsements within the last five years.
* Be open-minded about the products carried on your vehicle.
* Have vaccinations against Hepatitis B, tetanus/polio, and Hepatitis A, paid for by phs, due to the nature of waste handling.
In return for your commitment and expertise, you will receive:
* A salary of £34,549 (based on a 45-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, PM shift)
* 13 paydays per year (every 4 weeks)
* Discounts with retailers like O2 and F&B
* Pension scheme
* Annual leave of 31 days (including Christmas Day), with 30 days available for booking. Bank holidays are normal working days, except Christmas Day.
