Working hours: 10 hours per week (worked Wednesdays and Fridays)
Interview Date: To be confirmed
We are seeking a friendly, compassionate individual who is looking to give back to the community in Redruth. Are you that person?
At our weekly drop-in session on Wednesdays, we provide a warm and safe space for all, offering free refreshments and hot food. We additionally run a Wellbeing Warm Space on Friday mornings, a place where its ‘ok not to be ok’.
Your role will be to assist in the delivery of these activities, dealing with any routine issues which may arise, and ensuring that the sessions run smoothly. You will have a team of volunteers to help you with this.
Your interactions with everyone who attends will be caring and professional, with the aim of creating a welcoming and supportive environment. You’ll also liaise with any stakeholder partners who are present at the sessions, such as our Homelessness Prevention Manager, Foodbank volunteers, and Employment Plus workers.
Practically, you will be required to set up and clear down the hall (including any cleaning as necessary), cook basic food, and undertake any admin duties and stock control.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to have great communication and interpersonal skills and be able to follow the direction of the Corps Officer (minister of religion) responsible for Redruth Corps.
Ultimately, we are a Church and a charity, and you would need to feel comfortable to work within our Christian ethos and values, delivering your work in a non-judgemental way.
