Salary: £10,061.63 based on working 15 hours a week (0.3623 FTE)
Job Type: Permanent, Part Time
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 05.30 – hours per week, term time plus (44 weeks a year)

The Foundation comprises Abingdon School, Abingdon Prep School and Abingdon School Enterprises. Abingdon School is a leading independent day and boarding school for pupils aged 11-18. Currently a boys’ school, it will become co-educational from September 2026. Abingdon Prep School is a vibrant day preparatory school with around 200 pupils aged 4-13, co‑educational since last year. Both schools are in beautiful and extensive grounds.
Role Overview
The Housekeeping Department maintains a high standard of cleanliness across all Foundation sites. The Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing clean‑up of designated areas to the required standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out cleaning duties across pupil bedrooms, common rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, communal areas, staircases, teaching areas, off‑site school property and the Sports Centre, including deep cleans at term changes and after maintenance works.
* Supervise cleaning staff in a designated area, provide feedback, and support the Head of Housekeeping in maintaining standards and a positive working environment.
* Implement and monitor work schedules, coordinate cover for absences and special events (including evenings and weekends), and propose operational improvements.
* Log and report accidents, sickness, absence and incidents; identify staff training needs and support staff with IT and online training access.
* Manage ordering, auditing and stock control of cleaning materials and equipment, ensuring cleaning cupboards meet the required standard and reporting maintenance defects to the helpdesk.
Candidate Profile
* Experienced in general cleaning duties, with strong attention to detail and awareness of health and safety standards.
* Reliable, punctual, able to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and work independently or as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills, able to follow instructions, guide staff, and listen to feedback.

* Basic IT proficiency and willingness to undertake additional training as required.
* Understanding of the importance of customer service and maintaining high standards in all aspects of work.
