Note: This job posting appears to be for a Band 5 Senior Dental Nurse within the Oral Surgery/Unscheduled Dental Care Department, with a fixed term 18 month contract and 1.0 WTE (37.5 hours). Hours to be worked: Monday to Saturday between 8am – 8pm. Post available: 1.0 WTE. Secondment opportunities may be available with prior line manager agreement.

Post availability and duties The post holder will be an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Dental Nurse who has excellent interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills and will work in close collaboration with the Dental Nurse Managers, Dental Matrons and Clinical Leads. Responsibilities include management and development of the Dental Nurse Team to ensure smooth running of the service, with chairside activity and support for the Dental Nurse Manager and other Senior Dental Nurses in training and development.
Responsibilities
The post holder will support the clinical specialty to ensure a high standard of patient care and adherence to Trust policies and procedures. This includes chairside activity and supporting undergraduate and postgraduate training and development of the Service. They will educate and develop dental nursing teams to meet the acceptance criteria across the service.

Person Specification
Essential
* A Dental Nurse qualification enabling GDC registration (e.g., NVQ Level 3, Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing, or equivalent) and registration with the General Dental Council
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Hold a Level 3 Management Qualification or equivalent (e.g., ILM) or willingness to work towards
Desirable
* Post-Qualification recognitions (e.g., Dental Sedation Nursing, Dental Implant Nursing, Dental Radiography, Orthodontics)
Experience
* Significant experience across a wide range of dentistry
* Experience in day-to-day management of staff
* Commitment to supporting undergraduates to deliver high quality patient care and educational standards
Desirable
* Experience in service redesign and clinical financial management
Skills/Knowledge
* Understanding of clinical stock/budget management
* Ability to lead and work as part of a team
* Excellent communication skills (oral/written)
