We are looking for an IT Apprentice to work within our busy IT Team. The main responsibilities include:
1. Attending a suitable IT course for 20% of each week to develop IT knowledge related to the target scopes listed below. Higher-level IT education (part-time IT-related Degree/HND) may follow after the initial apprenticeship.
2. Gaining practical experience in the target IT areas listed below.
3. Providing level 1 support for LAN/WAN network infrastructure and all IT systems, supported by the IT Manager, IT Support & Administration Engineer, external suppliers, and IT Managed Service Provider.
4. Carrying out IT administration tasks for network infrastructure and systems, supported by the same team.
5. Creating and updating IT Department SOPs and documentation, supported by the same team.
6. Sourcing and purchasing IT software, hardware, and solutions within the PO approval process.
7. Learning to troubleshoot EDI problems, supported by the IT Manager, IT Support & Administration Engineer, ERP partner, and EDI Managed Service Provider.
8. Ensuring adherence to IT policies and procedures.
9. Deputising for the IT Support & Administration Engineer during holidays, offsite work, or illness.
10. Helping to improve service levels provided by the IT Department.
11. Managing assigned IT projects.
12. Occasionally working outside normal hours for critical support.
13. Following good practices regarding IT legality, security, and cybersecurity, including installing only legal software and maintaining antivirus and email protection.
14. Supporting the main objectives of the IT Department and performing duties as requested by the IT Manager, IT Support & Administration Engineer, or SLT.
15. Promoting a positive and enthusiastic working environment.
