We are an independent, multi-disciplinary firm of property experts advising and acting for clients across a full range of residential, commercial, rural land, and property matters. We pride ourselves on professionalism, efficiency, and a commitment to excellence.

The Role:

We are seeking an Office Accounts Clerk to join our finance team. You will be responsible for managing both incoming and outgoing payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting operations. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

* Process supplier invoices with accuracy and proper authorisation
* Prepare and execute payments via cheques and bank transfers
* Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
* Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and handle payment inquiries

Accounts Receivable:

* Generate and issue invoices to customers
* Track outstanding payments and follow up on overdue accounts
* Process incoming payments and update records
* Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies

General Accounting Support:

* Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
* Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
* Collaborate with the finance team on day-to-day operations
* Utilise accounting software such as Xero

What We're Looking For:

* Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is essential
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Good organisational and time management abilities
* Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in IT, especially Excel and accounting software such as Xero
* A proactive attitude and willingness to support a busy finance team

Remuneration

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:15 pm

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.

Benefits: 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), on-site parking, pension scheme.

Location: County Chambers, Kings Road, Melton Mowbray, LE13 1QF.
