Care Practitioner
Salary
£25,396.80 to £28,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
Sleep in's are paid additional are at £45 a sleep
Shifts will be completed on a rolling Rota basis
About you
You will be an integral part of the team in taking a child-centred approach in supporting the children and young people in their daily routines and their physical, emotional, and practical needs. You will be a positive role model to the young people and will mentor, encourage, and support them in the development of independent skills and education attainment.
As a Care Practitioner you will ensure best practice about achieving the best possible results for the young people we support in line with Ofsted Regulations and Quality Standards. We are looking for individuals with strong work ethic and motivational skills and ability who will be able to continue to develop the service we provide. The role of Care Practitioner requires active commitment to the children and young people in our care and a diligence to the values and ethos of Guiding Light Care.
The safeguarding of children and young people are a priority at GLC and therefore you will be required to undergo a full enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) and vetting in line with safer recruitment policies and procedures.
Your Role:
* Act as a positive and professional role model for young people.
* Support daily routines, fostering confidence and independence in children and young people.
* Give young people a voice in decisions impacting their care and lives.
* Encourage educational achievement and develop life skills through engaging activities.
* Deliver key work sessions aligned with care plans.
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, safeguarding, and quality within an inclusive environment.
* To produce, maintain, and distribute house paperwork to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available.
* To complete additional tasks and duties requested by your line manager that are reasonable within your role of a care practitioner.
What We are Looking For:
* Calm, adaptable approach to challenging behaviours.
* Teamwork and relationship-building skills.
* Organisational ability for record-keeping and house paperwork.
* Level 3/4 Health and Social Care in Young People's Workforce (or willingness to work towards this).
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or willingness to learn new technologies.
* Enthusiasm for ongoing job-related training and personal development.
