Role Overview
We are looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to act as a Band 6 Clinical Team Leader within a specialist older adult inpatient service. The role requires a passion for caring for older people and a commitment to delivering high standards of mental and physical healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development of knowledge, ideas and clinical practice particularly in the assessment of care needs and development, implementation and evaluation of care plans for older adults with functional and organic mental illness.
* Support, guide and monitor the performance of nursing staff, including supervising Staff Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and student nurses.
* Establish and maintain communication with patients, carers and staff about difficult or complex matters, overcoming problems in communication.
* Develop own knowledge and skills and contribute to the development of others.
* Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others in own work area.
* Contribute to the implementation of services and to quality improvement initiatives.
* Promote equality, diversity and rights of people.
* Assess the care needs of people whose needs are relatively stable and consistent with others in the ward.
* Plan, deliver and evaluate programmes of care to address people’s needs, which are relatively stable and consistent with others in the ward.
* Participate in partnership working with individuals, groups, communities and agencies.
* Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice.
* Plan the allocation and provide feedback to team members.
* Maintain and support the efficient use of physical and/or financial resources.
