About The Role You bring extensive experience of leading large scale digital, product and transformation initiatives, working within established consulting and advisory circles and into large and complex organisations, such as Government departments, national charities or international businesses. Youll know that product is a mindset, and this role is not project management or leading a PMO.
It involves working with Ministers, Perm Secretaries, CEOs - coaching and enabling them and their teams to take bold steps around reform and innovation in an AI era. It means being completely immersed in our clients problem spaces, whilst building inclusive and exciting spaces for rainbow teams to think big and deliver at speed, and ensuring a consistently great TPX experience for our clients.
Youll provide overall accountability and leadership for, our biggest, thorniest and challenging programmes of work. Youll bring a track record of holding accountability for large scale and deep-reaching digital transformation projects, programmes and portfolios, routinely using your wisdom, judgement, expertise and occasional good humour to ensure we deliver exceptional impact.
These range in scale, value and complexity; in central government, they might be leading cross-disciplinary teams across multiple projects each with different senior stakeholders, outcomes, levels of complexity and team specialism. On such engagements, TPX might typically be deploying 40-100 people concurrently, delivering some of the largest digital programmes for Government and beyond.
In our key areas - primarily the UK public sector with emergent work in commercial, higher education and commercial spaces - we are delivering business critical digital transformation and change programmes, often in highly regulated environments, or where there can be no interruption to the provision of statutory services or matters of public health.
This role will be accountable for delivery, sitting at the table alongside departmental directors/perm secretaries in major public sector organisations and directly supporting them to achieve their delivery ambitions. In the most complex work youll be supported by a senior sponsor who holds the overall client relationship while in other work you may need to do this alongside your delivery role.

About You Youll be a great all-rounder - thought leader, proposition developer, strategist, business developer, client director and inspirational leader. Youll have exceptional client management and relationship skills. But identifying and successfully progressing new business opportunities (through organic growth, reputation building and on-upsell) will be a vital part of this role. Youll have at least five years experience of working in digital, design, technology or data related disciplines in the Central Government sector. Youll be able to win clients over with your demonstrable experience of leading exemplary delivery in two or more of those disciplines in large, complex organisations with notable stakeholder, capability and governance challenges.
You know and deeply understand the policy areas, spaces and markets for which you focus (whether thats an emergent space or an existing market). Youll have examples of engaging directly with users at both strategic/policy and delivery level and having worked to and met the UK governments service standard and technology code of practice. You bring a commensurate range of pre-existing senior relationships in those spaces (CEOs, Directors, and other senior leaders), particular in our current and target accounts.
Youll be skilled at articulating client and sector challenges and helping to share and frame their context such that colleagues and project teams can navigate those spaces deftly to deliver and land project outcomes. Youll do that through project leadership, account direction, coaching/mentoring, and challenges/crits.
Whilst youll bring deep expertise in particular areas, youll also be comfortable positioning our full-service offering that spans technology, product, digital transformation, design, delivery, digital experience and automation for. Youll build a solid personal network with colleagues across TPX to ensure you understand that offer; work with capability leads and other divisions to inform and influence capability area/divisional strategies to align to market/client needs.
