We’re looking for a passionate Outdoor Education Instructor to help shape and deliver an exceptional outdoor learning programme that supports our students’ personal, social, and academic development. This is a role for someone who loves variety, embraces challenge, and wants to make a real difference every single day.

What you will be doing

1. Supporting the development and delivery of a high‑quality Outdoor Education programme across the school
2. Planning and leading engaging group and 1:1 outdoor learning sessions, working closely with class teachers to create cross‑curricular links
3. Attending team meetings and contributing to discussions on planning, equipment, training, and resources
4. Building and maintaining positive relationships with external activity providers such as climbing walls and watersport centres
5. Ensuring all equipment is safe, maintained, stored correctly, and ready for use, including bikes and specialist kit
6. Assisting with equipment lists, hire arrangements, risk assessments, and Educational Visit documentation
7. Using in‑house systems to track and record student progress and supporting students to achieve awards such as DofE, NICAS, and Paddle Power
8. Taking an active role in planning and delivering daily outdoor trips and wider educational visits

What you will bring

9. GCSE qualifications or equivalent (level 2 standard of education) to include Math's and English

10. Experience in delivering Outdoor Education lessons
11. Holds a current Outdoor First Aid Certificate
12. Displays an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people
13. Suitability qualified in a minimum of 2 Adventurous Activities
14. Full UK driving licence with the ability to transport students and equipment when required
15. Willingness to drive a trailer when required

Desirable

16. A surfing and/or beach lifeguard qualification would be an advantage to an application
17. NGB awards in Mountain biking, Mountain Leader, climbing, paddling, forest school.
18. Experience of working in an SEMH or special school setting
19. Use of own vehicle with business insurance.
