Job Title: Cover Supervisor Location: Darlington Salary: £100 – £130 per day (depending on experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time Are you confident, adaptable, and passionate about supporting students in their education? GSL Education are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dependable Cover Supervisors to work in schools across Darlington. This Cover Supervisor role involves supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning and complete pre-set work in a positive and structured classroom environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning and promoting positive behaviour within the school. Cover Supervisor Responsibilities: Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher Deliver pre-set work and ensure students stay focused on tasks Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies Support students with their learning where required Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive classroom environment Follow safeguarding and school procedures at all times Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff Requirements of a Cover Supervisor: Previous experience working with young people is desirable Strong communication and classroom management skills Confident, proactive, and adaptable approach Ability to engage and motivate students Degree or relevant school-based experience is advantageous Passion for education and supporting student development An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing a new application.
