As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial delivery of high-end residential projects while developing your career in quantity surveying. You'll work closely with senior colleagues, gaining practical experience across every stage of the process and building the foundation for long-term growth in your career.
The responsibilities we'll trust you with
* You'll play an active role in preparing subcontractor and material enquiries, building relationships, and supporting a smooth procurement process.
* You'll assist in assembling subcontract orders, ensuring every document, insurance, and package detail is in place to keep projects moving seamlessly.
* You'll support the management of subcontractor accounts, gaining hands-on experience with remeasurement, tracking variations, and monitoring provisional sums.
* You'll take ownership of recording and pricing project variations, sharpening your commercial skills while supporting accurate and reliable final accounts.
* You'll review subcontractor applications for payment, preparing timely payment notices and strengthening financial control across projects.
* You'll contribute to valuations, cost analysis, and reporting, collaborating closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor to develop your expertise and progress your career.
Where you'll be based
You'll join our Central Region team, delivering a wide-ranging portfolio of high-value country projects, from £500k to £100m. Our work spans Grade I and II listed buildings, extensive refurbishments, contemporary new builds, sporting estates, boutique hotels, and grand manor houses-each requiring exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship.
You'll be based on-site at one of our prestigious projects, joining a warm and professional team known for their expertise, collaboration, and commitment to excellence.

* You'll hold an HNC in Construction or a relevant degree-level qualification, providing a solid foundation for your professional development.
* You'll bring insight into private residential building contracting, with an eagerness to deepen your expertise in this specialist sector.
* You'll understand the principles of property taxation and contractual law, applying them with growing confidence in project contexts.
* You'll demonstrate technical knowledge of both traditional and modern building methods, with a keen eye for quality and innovation.
* You'll use MS Office with confidence, particularly Excel, and communicate clearly through well-structured, precise written work.
* You'll combine strong numeracy and financial management skills with the ability to adapt quickly to construction management IT packages.
