Role Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
* Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student achievement.
* Build positive relationships with students and contribute to their academic and personal development.
* Foster creativity, problem‑solving skills, innovation, and practical design skills within Design and Technology.
* Support students in developing technical knowledge, design processes, and safe workshop practices.
* Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
* Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
* Engage with ongoing professional development opportunities.
* Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Ideal Candidate
* Passionate about inspiring and supporting young people aged 11–18.
* Committed to helping students develop confidence, resilience, and a love of learning.
* Motivated to develop their teaching practice and progress within the profession.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work collaboratively and build positive relationships.
* Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
Essential Requirements
* GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics.
* A‑Level grades with a combined minimum of BCC, including at least a Grade B in Design and Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related subject.
* A 2:2 degree or above in Design and Technology, Product Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, Architecture, or a closely related subject.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Previous experience working with young people in an educational, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or similar setting is desirable.
