What we’re looking for
The position is for a Surveyor or Senior Surveyor grade, depending on experience and skills, for the Hull office and its area of operation, occasional work outside of this area is also expected. The role is primarily dealing with the classification survey of existing ships, ISM/ISPS/MLC audits and MEC (Marine Equipment and Component) inspections.

The role
9. You will perform surveys on new construction projects, in-service vessels, and several Marine Equipment and Components at Manufacturers' works, in accordance with Lloyd's Register Rules and Regulations and other applicable national & International standards.
10. Discuss and present the deliverable with the internal/external client and be able to suggest solutions where appropriate.
11. Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
12. Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness. Ensure that the appropriate technical competencies are gained and kept up to date.
13. Undertake routine administration as required in line with current processes and procedures
What you bring
14. A degree or equivalent from a recognised organisation within the relevant field of engineering or physical science, or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience.
15. Membership of an appropriate professional institution or working towards or achieving chartered or incorporated engineering status.
16. To work in accordance with professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics.
17. To use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology.
18. To be able to apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate and maintain engineering products, processes, systems, and services.
19. To provide technical and commercial management, e.g., project management, process management.
20. You currently have or are eligible to obtain security clearance.
21. Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the work.
