Job Role:
The candidate should have the ability to work cross-functionally across all aspects of Process Safety, providing sound technical advice and solutions. Responsibilities include performing HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, risk assessments, hazard identification, scenario development, consequence modelling, and report preparation. A thorough understanding of safety study methodologies, software modelling, and report review is essential, especially related to FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and plant start-up.
Job Responsibilities:
* Participate in project risk assessments such as HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops.
* Lead the team to successfully complete HSEIA processes.
* Lead engineering efforts on projects, including reviewing contract requirements and organizing project documentation.
* Review and interpret P&ID, HMB, plant layouts, procedures, and drawings.
* Engage in multidiscipline design projects and workshops.
* Perform fire-water demand calculations and safety equipment layout and specifications.
* Review safety cases, HSEIA, and design HSE cases.
* Prepare reports such as FERA, QRA, EERA, ESSA, and performance standards.
* Assess escape, evacuation, rescue, and recovery procedures.
* Facilitate and chair safety workshops like HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, SIL, ALARP, and PHSER.
* Develop and deliver training on safety studies.
* Knowledge of SIMOPS, MOPO, constructability review is desirable.
* Verify and validate SIL processes.
* Lead project meetings with clients and manage interfaces.
* Support junior team members in safety studies.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or relevant field.
* Minimum 15+ years of experience in technical safety and risk in EPC for oil & gas industry.
* Knowledge of ADNOC, SABIC, Saudi Aramco, QE standards is desirable.
* Experience in hydrocarbon industry sectors such as oil & gas, refineries, petrochemicals, or fertilizers.
* Understanding of refinery processes, plant equipment, and process control.
* Ability to read and interpret P&ID and PFD diagrams.
* Experience with CFD, RAM, and dropped object studies is advantageous.
* Extensive leadership and project management experience in process safety.
