Lecturer in Experimental Aerospace Engineering
We are seeking to appoint a permanent post as Lecturer in Experimental Aerospace Engineering to help develop and contribute to teaching, research, and knowledge exchange within the School of Engineering at the University of the West of England.
Overview
The successful candidate will design, deliver, and lead cutting-edge modules in Aerospace Engineering and Aerospace Engineering with Pilot Studies, provide mentorship to staff and students, and contribute to research initiatives and external collaborations. The role focuses on advancing multidiscipline Aerospace Engineering education and strengthening industry partnerships.
Responsibilities
* Design, deliver, and lead modules in Aerospace Engineering and Aerospace Engineering with Pilot Studies.
* Provide mentorship to other staff and students and contribute to the delivery of aerospace and pilot studies modules.
* Contribute to research initiatives and external collaborations within the School and with industry partners.
Qualifications
* Postgraduate qualification in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline (or near completion). If from a professional practice/industry background, a qualification equivalent to degree level with relevant professional experience in the Aerospace and Aviation sector.
* Teaching qualification and experience of teaching in higher education is advantageous.
* Evidence of continuous professional development in relevant subject areas.
* Strong expertise in experimental thermofluids and aerodynamics; ability to design and conduct practical experiments for teaching and research.
Location
This post is based at the Frenchay campus in Bristol, with access to facilities to support staff and students to succeed.
