What you’ll be doing as an Accountant:

1. Assist in maintaining smooth operations within the Finance Department by reviewing payroll reports and conducting internal controls.
2. Review supplier invoices, general ledger coding of expenses, and verify supplier payments with supporting documents.
3. Verify expense reimbursements with supporting documents to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
4. Prepare general ledger reconciliations and follow up on contract renewals.
5. Prepare, post, and update standard and adjustment journal vouchers at month-end.
6. Prepare bank reconciliation statements and analyze expenses and major budget variations.
7. Review Night Auditors' logbooks and verify daily revenue and food & beverage reports.
8. Conduct float counting of all house fund holders weekly and prepare monthly float count summaries.
9. Prepare check runs for approval and reconcile supplier statements with hotel records monthly.
10. Ensure accurate and complete billing, and handle all accounts payable queries.
11. Supervise monthly payrolls, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries and benefits.
12. Monitor time and attendance systems, ensuring proper accounting of payroll-related accruals.
13. Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations and final settlement calculations for departing employees.
14. Perform market surveys, select vendors, and follow up on delivery times and complaints.
15. Contribute to improving policies and procedures related to accounts payable and payroll.

What we’re looking for:

16. Proven experience within a hotel finance department at management or senior management level within hotels, serviced apartments, or hospitality.
17. Experience of working within Saudi Arabia.
18. Knowledge of local financial regulations and laws.
19. Updated knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards.
20. Competency in ACCPAC, SAP, hotel PMS (HMS), Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SkyBayan, SAGE300 and related hospitality proprietary software packages.
21. Competent Oral and Written English and Arabic Communication Skills.
22. Formal qualifications at tertiary level to degree standard in Science, Administration or Commerce with a major in Accountancy.
23. Strong organisational and work coordinating skills combined with an ability to handle multiple assignments and projects simultaneously.
24. Professionally groomed.
25. Able to work with minimal supervision.
26. Ethical, honest and possessing integrity.
27. Ability to work to deadlines.
28. Able to identify and implement new business practices and processes.
