A leading FMCG business based in the Bury area are looking for a Production Planner to join their team. As Production Planner you will play a key role in driving efficiency, ensuring optimal production schedules, balancing demand with supply across a busy manufacturing site. This role is 4 days a week on site with 1 day working from home.
About the role:
Coordinate purchasing, production, inventory, and sales activities to minimise waste and downtime.
Develop and maintain both short- and long-term production schedules in line with sales forecasts and customer requirements.
Oversee inventory levels through regular audits, accurate forecasting, and effective communication with suppliers and distribution centers.
Monitor and report on obsolete or excess stock, ensuring clear communication with production, finance, and warehouse teams.
Collaborate with transport, distribution, and customer service teams to resolve issues and maintain exceptional service levels.
Manage customer portals and communications, providing timely updates on order status, stock levels, and delivery timelines.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyse operational data, and drive continuous improvement across production planning and supply chain functions.
Support the introduction of new product lines and ensure ongoing audit readiness.
About the person:
Previous experience working within a planning role from within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with short lead times would be preferred.
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong Excel skills.
