We have an exciting new opportunity for a Swimming Teacher at Places Leisure, where you will work in a fun, lively environment with like-minded people. You will inspire others to work together and deliver their best, with a passion for teaching, swimming and strong class programming and instructing skills.
All swimmer development stages follow the National Plan for Teaching Swimming. A minimum UKCC Level 2 qualification is required. It would be advantageous to hold a Lifesaving Qualification (NPLQ or NRASTC); we will support you in achieving these qualifications through our ongoing training and development opportunities.
There are many opportunities within Places Leisure and a Swimming Teacher role can lead to roles such as Swimming Co-ordinator or Contract Swimming Development Manager. We offer ongoing training and development, including support with NPLQ or NRASTC qualifications and opportunities to enhance customer service skills.
Responsibilities
* Instruct swimming lessons for individuals and groups, helping students learn to swim and improve confidence, strength and technique.
* Engage customers with friendly, approachable and patient communication; build trust and motivate students.
* Teach based on industry best practice, applying effective teaching strategies to help students achieve their potential.
* Identify and pursue development opportunities to improve the service provided.
Qualifications and requirements
* Minimum UKCC Level 2 qualification; willingness to work towards NPLQ or NRASTC if not already held.
* Experience delivering swimming lessons and strong customer service skills.
* Desire to continually develop professional knowledge and practice in line with industry standards.
