Kōrero mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As the Operations Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage the operational area at the Bus Interchange and monitor the day-to-day running of contracted public transport services. You’ll ensure that the operational area at the Bus Interchange functions to its full potential, by monitoring the dynamic allocation system and confirming the environment always remains safe.
This role engages with the Bus Interchange facility management team and together you’ll create a safe, customer focussed experience for all facility users focusing on real-time activities to guarantee daily network operations are performing and offering the service Cantabrians expect of their bus services.
In this role, you’ll work with contracted public transport operators to ensure optimal network performance and operational requirements, including vehicle quality, and will require some contract management, also working collaboratively with the Christchurch City Council (CCC) and their contractors to ensure the best network reliability is maintained where traffic management is required.

Mōu │ About You
You’ll have real passion for transport operations, you’ll have proven experience in contract / contractor management, vehicle quality regimes, and auditing fleets to guarantee high-service delivery. Your previous role may have been in either public transport, quality assurance, or both!
You’ll thrive in a collaborative environment working with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be driven by maintaining positive and successful relationships, critical for success in this role alongside your technical expertise.
You’ll bring experience in achieving, monitoring, and maintaining high-quality service standards. You’ll have excellent time management skills and proven experience in reacting quickly and decisively in times of pressure. You’ll be flexible with your time and availability – buses run 18 hours per day, seven days a week and our rotating rosters reflect this.

Mātau ā-Wheako | Experience
* Three years’ experience in a Customer Service or public transport related role.
* Proven high standard of interpersonal skills, demonstrating compassion and empathy in interacting and advising a diverse range of people.
* Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work accurately within a range of databases and Microsoft applications to access, analyse and problem solve.
* Real Time Information (RTI) experience desirable
* Experience using technology and digital tools.
* The ability to multi task in a fast paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
