Overview
Apprentice - Road Logistics Specialist at TieTalent. This 24-month apprenticeship provides practical on-the-job training and study towards the International Freight Forwarding Level 3 Apprenticeship standard.
Responsibilities
* Manage the delivery, storage and transport of goods from UK-based warehouses
* Support the planning and scheduling of shipments, including route optimisation and load planning
* Work closely with internal teams, including warehouse staff and drivers, to ensure seamless operations
* Collaborate with external partners such as carriers and suppliers to optimise transportation solutions
* Plan domestic UK fleet or international line hauls, invoicing and technical processes for managing shipments
* Understand an overview of customs requirements and procedures for transporting goods
* Monitor and maintain records related to transport operations, including tracking information and performance metrics
What we would like you to bring
* Five GCSEs at grades 3-9 / A*-D including Maths & English
* Strong customer service mindset, good planning and organisation skills, and the ability to multitask and be a self-starter
* Previous use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel is beneficial
* This vacancy does not meet the minimum requirements for visa sponsorship and apprenticeship funding; candidates must have been resident in the EEA for at least the last 3 years
* This is an entry-level training position. If you are already qualified or experienced in this area, this is unlikely to be the position for you. However, we would welcome your application for one of our other vacancies
Key Information
* Apprenticeship Contract: Fixed Term 2 years
* Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
* Place of work: On Site - Unit 4, Wilders Way, East Midlands Gateway, Kegworth, Derby (DE74 2BB - Next to East Midlands Airport). Please check location to ensure it is commutable
Recruitment Process
1. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis
2. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a telephone screening call with a member of our Talent Acquisition team to discuss the apprenticeship and what you can bring to the role
3. A final shortlist of candidates will be invited to an interview onsite with two members of the hiring team
4. All candidates will receive telephone feedback after their interviews; if offered, you will be invited to return to the office for a site tour and to provide right to work documentation
We offer
You can expect a starting salary of £15,500 in year one, with an increase after 12 months, plus a bonus upon completion of the apprenticeship.
