Our Structures Team is involved in designing some of the largest civil engineering projects across Scotland, with values exceeding £1bn.

We also have a diverse portfolio of major roads, bridges, and transportation projects with Transport Scotland, Local Authorities, and contractors nationwide.

These long-term contracts offer excellent opportunities for technical, engineering, and professional development at all career stages.

The role

As a Lead Senior Engineer, you will support your Design Team Leader on various Civil schemes, lead projects, and mentor junior designers.

Responsibilities include:

* Overseeing junior staff and taking responsibility for their work.

* Contributing to bid preparation and work-winning activities.
* Promoting health and safety practices within the team.

What you will bring to us:

* Experience and expertise in the relevant technical field, likely from a Senior Engineer role or similar.
* Ability to produce compliant, high-quality engineering solutions independently and supervise others.
* Experience in health, safety, and welfare management, including regulations and systems.
* Capability to act as the main engineering contact, e.g., CRE for Network Rail schemes.
* Knowledge of design and specification processes, with the ability to advise and check designs.
* Proficiency with relevant software and analytical tools.
* Understanding of CDM and risk management, ensuring hazards are mitigated.
* Potential to act as Principal Designer on suitable projects.
