Test Engineer – Responsibilities
* New Product Development for Test
* New Product and Change implementation for Test Equipment
* Maintain and upgrade developed Test processes (i.e. Calibration of equipment, variant changes to sub assembly Test, etc.)
* Detail and co-ordinate the requirements capture to enable the timely procurement of Test equipment to facilitate manufacturing
* Work in a team environment to solve issues to keep NPI goals and milestones
* Co-ordinate / Participate to cross functional working groups to facilitate Design for Test, PFMEA, PIP, etc.
* Manufacturing Test strategy and specification; Define and develop (with support of engineering teams.)
* Manufacturing Test equipment; Strategy development, Planning, Capacity, Specification, Design, Purchase, Install, Commission, etc.
* Work directly with and manage suppliers to develop solutions
* Manufacturing Test and associated business systems initial setup, integration, and support; LMS, Test equipment software, etc.
* Documentation creation and sign off; Work instructions, Risk Assessments, Management of Change, Puwer and Operator Training
* Continuous Improvement strategy of Test Processes incl. VSM, Lean, etc.
* NPI Supplier onboarding and processing, i.e. Complyworks, SPT orders, etc.
* Provide day to day Support to manufacturing during production project builds for test equipment
* Be on-site TAP & competent Person to facilitate manufacturing Testing
The Person
The candidate will have a good level of general education and communication skills and will have previously worked in a manufacturing Test environment supporting and implementing production test equipment. In addition to relevant experience, an enquiring mind and desire to learn new skills are essential qualities.
Skills And Experience Preferred
* EHS compliance and safe working practices
* Ability to deliver results, address and resolve technical issues
* 5 years’ Experience in a manufacturing Test environment and knowledge of automated Manufacturing test equipment implementation
* HNC/HND or Engineering Degree or equivalent in a related discipline
* Knowledge of HVDC product testing would be advantageous
* Interaction with others and good at sharing knowledge
Additional Skills Beneficial But Not Critical
* Advanced manufacturing Methods and subsequent implementation, LEAN
* Knowledge of business principles, strategy, and subsequent interface across all functions
