Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an organised, efficient, and enthusiastic individual to join the established CAMHS East team in HPFT CAMHS for a 3-month fixed term post. The CAMHS East team offers a range of specialist evidence-based therapeutic interventions for young people and their families who are presenting with moderate to severe mental health problems.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide comprehensive, professional, and effective secretarial and administrative support to the CAMHS East team and the Consultant Psychiatrists.
* Audio-typing letters, reports, and meeting minutes.
* Book appointments, manage the team referral inbox and take messages.
* Answer the telephone and pass relevant queries to the staff team.
* Organise room bookings, send out agendas and follow up on action points.
* Update individual patient records and maintain confidentiality at all times.
* Ensure all administrative processes run smoothly, adhere to Trust policies, and meet department procedures.
* Work independently, apply initiative, and communicate clearly with clinicians and wider colleagues.


Qualifications & Experience

* Significant secretarial experience, preferably within an NHS or healthcare environment (RSA II/III or equivalent).
* Proficient in audio-typing and competent with Windows and Word applications.
* Good general education and strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong numeracy and IT skills, including knowledge of Windows applications.


Desirable Criteria

* ECDL certification.
* Medical Secretary qualification with terminology knowledge.
* Familiarity with medical terminology.
* ePEX literacy or understanding of databases.
* Knowledge and understanding of health records function.
* Familiarity with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and related Disclosure and Barring Service procedures.


Other Requirements & Information

The role requires you to hold or obtain a Clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service and comply with the Trust's Anti-Discriminatory Statement, Employee Charter, Trust Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct, and Equality and Diversity policies.
