Join ICTUK at an exciting time as we launch our brand-new Paper Mill in Deeside. We are seeking a proactive and analytical Process Shift Technician to support our production operations from day one. This is a rare opportunity to work on cutting-edge machinery, drive continuous improvement, and help optimise our papermaking processes. As part of the founding team, you'll play a critical role in maximising efficiency, reducing waste, and supporting the success of our new mill through Lean initiatives and problem-solving.
Role Responsibilities
* Perform installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, automation, and instrumentation equipment to ensure reliable operation.
* Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues using schematics, drawings, and diagnostic tools; identify root causes and implement corrective actions promptly.
* Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop and implement technical solutions.
* Carry out routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and testing of electrical systems to maintain safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
* Prepare detailed reports, maintain accurate records, and manage requisitions for supplies and spare parts.
* Supervise and inspect work performed by external contractors and vendors to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
* Ensure work areas are clean, organised, and compliant with safety and housekeeping standards.
* Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding shift activities, issues, and escalations.
* Follow out-of-hours escalation procedures and participate in on-call engineering rotas to address urgent electrical faults.
* Actively support and contribute to the site's safety culture by reporting hazards, incidents, and taking immediate corrective actions when needed.
Working Hours:
This role will be a Days based position with a 1 in 5 week call out rota.
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Qualified to NVQ L3 or equivalent
* Strong understanding of electrical safety standards, codes, and compliance requirements.
* Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
* Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
