This is an exciting opportunity to become part of Adoption Partnership South East regional adoption agency and help to make a positive difference for children and families across the south east.
We are currently seeking a Peer Connection Coordinator to lead and grow our community connection service. This is a part-time role with flexible working hours, offering the chance to shape a service that truly matters. The post holder will Lead and develop the peer support network, matching adopters and prospective adopters with peers who understand their journey. Build and nurture community groups across the region, creating safe and supportive spaces for families.
As the community connections lead the post holder will be the main point of contact for parents and those in the support network, including Social Workers. It will be important to reach out to parents to develop and facilitate good relationships and deliver regular training, guidance, and support to peers and group leads.
There will be a requirement to maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on the service to management.
This role is ideal for someone who is a natural connector, passionate about community building, and committed to supporting adoptive families through every stage of their journey.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Recruit volunteer adopter peers who have the experience and desire to provide reassurance and help to others undergoing the adopter assessment process and support through their adoption journey.
- Recruit volunteer group leads who can volunteer their time to organise and lead community groups in the region and support them as the groups develop and evolve.
- Recruit volunteer peers who have the experience and desire to help other adoptive parents by listening to their concerns, from one parent to another, providing advice and guidance where possible.
- Respond to requests from Social Workers for a peer in a timely manner and identify the most appropriate peer to support adoptive parents, by identifying the need and reviewing which Peer, would be best able to support that adopter.

Adoption Partnership South East is the regional adoption agency delivering adoption services for the London Borough of Bexley, Kent County Council, and Medway Council. Bringing together our expertise, we are committed to achieving the best for all our children across the region. Our agency launched in November 2020.
