About the Role
As Information Hub Assistant, you'll be the welcoming face of the campus and the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors. You'll play a key role in delivering essential information, supporting day-to-day operations, and ensuring everyone feels informed and supported. This is a varied role that requires excellent time management, prioritisation skills, and a calm, professional approach.
What You'll Do:
Greet students, staff, and guests at the Campus Information Hub desk, creating a warm and professional first impression
Maintain a clean, organised, and well-presented reception area
Issue and monitor ID cards for students, staff, and visitors, and maintain accurate visitor records
Respond to enquiries in person, by phone, and via email, triaging effectively and directing them to appropriate resources
Liaise with campus departments to ensure the Information Hub remains a reliable and up-to-date resource
Support administrative teams with a range of tasks, including typing letters, managing student forms, booking auditions, and handling post
Monitor and authorise student absences via online forms
Maintain the telephone system and report any issues
Keep the storage room behind the Information Hub desk tidy and organised
Assist with general office duties to support the Information Hub Supervisor and wider administrative processes
What You'll Bring:
A good level of general education, including English and Maths
Previous experience in a customer service and/or administrative role
Excellent telephone manner and ability to manage high call volumes
Strong time-keeping, organisational, and prioritisation skills
Professional personal presentation and communication skills
Friendly, empathetic attitude with a proactive approach to student support
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Computer literacy, accuracy, and attention to detail
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
Desirable: experience working with diverse clientele, knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with using computer databases
Working hours for this role are 9:45am to 6:15pm (with a one-hour lunch break) during term time, and 9:00am to 5:30pm (with a one-hour lunch break) outside of term time.
