Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the nursing team on the SCBU or NICU on a daily basis.
* Ensure excellent standards of neonatal care and support staff development.
* Contribute to positive team culture and support operational improvements.
* Drive change, innovation, and the delivery of family‑centred care.
* Collaborate in service development and influence clinical practice.

* Registered nurse with significant neonatal experience and Speciality qualification.
* Post‑registration education in neonatal nursing.
* Strong leadership, communication, and team‑management skills.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential Criteria
* Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma) and registered on the appropriate part of the register.
* Significant post‑registration experience with relevant neonatal speciality.
* Ward management experience in an acute hospital.
* Knowledge of current issues in acute health services.
* Experience supporting and managing a range of learners.
* Evidence of clinical decision‑making and judgement.
* Commitment to post, Care Group responsibilities and continuing professional development.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience managing adverse events and complaints.
* Appraisal skills.
* Familiarity with practice assessment roles or learner progression support.
* Insight into budget management.
