Job Overview

Do you want to be part of a practice that is passionate about delivering a multi-disciplinary model of care? Do you have an interest in developing the current and next generation of Primary Care practitioners – whether a Nurse, Medic, Physiotherapist, Physician Associate or Paramedic? Do you enjoy teaching and mentoring others and still want to do the GP day job? Then this could be the role for you! The Primary and Community Care Academy in North Wales, in partnership with Hillcrest Medical Centre, is developing a Multi-Disciplinary Practitioner Training Hub to offer a range of training and learning opportunities for the current and next generation of primary and community care practitioners.

Main duties of the job

The job plan will include protected / dedicated sessions for the clinical and educational supervision of a small cohort of trainees, which may include Medical Students, Physician Associates, Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners and GP Trainees. Don’t worry if you aren’t a GP Trainer – we will support you to become one. The practice has a multidisciplinary team and a tailored telephony system to support patient access to services.

Working for our organisation

We are part of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, the largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 700,000. We are committed to promoting equality, diversity and are proud to welcome applicants under the Disability Confident Employer scheme.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

This is a portfolio role and the successful candidate will be expected to undertake clinical sessions in the practice as well. We welcome applications for full‑time and part‑time positions but wish to secure a commitment to undertake the work of a clinical supervisor for at least two days a week, as you will be responsible for our students in the first place. The Training Team is made up of professionals who are not doctors and will collaborate to provide educational opportunities and improve skills. We offer a salary in line with the DDRB and the benefits associated with working for the Health Board, including annual leave, study leave and CPD.
