The research nurse/coordinator will support the safe conduct of research in accordance with regulatory and legal frameworks, including the planning, undertaking, and closure of clinical studies. They will be responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, and providing ongoing care to research participants according to the study protocol.
The role includes supporting NIHR Portfolio-Adopted research studies within LNWH, ensuring compliance with ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines. No prior research experience is necessary, as comprehensive training will be provided, offering excellent opportunities to gain research experience.
The post involves managing NIHR portfolio studies, including patient recruitment, education, monitoring, data collection, and documentation. The post holder will work collaboratively with clinical teams and the multidisciplinary team to manage patient caseloads in clinical research studies.
Responsibilities include supporting the consent process, explaining treatments and risks, handling randomization, completing case report forms (CRFs), and maintaining accurate records per ICH-GCP standards. The role also involves organizing investigations, tracking follow-ups, entering data, and submitting data regularly to clinical trial centers and the R&D Department. The post holder should be proactive in educating clinical staff on running clinical trials. Flexibility in working hours and across the Trust is essential.
While based at Central Middlesex Hospital, the post requires working flexibly across the Trust.
