The Position
You will develop the UK&I Asset Management Grid strategy and lead all client-facing Grid initiatives across our Asset Management portfolio. You will serve as a key liaison between support services delivery teams, wider Group functions, and clients. Your role involves supporting the development and delivery of Grid Services related to operational assets managed by the Global Asset Management Teams, aiming to meet company, client, team, and project goals.
While the primary focus is supporting our UK Asset Management Team, there will be opportunities to collaborate with other RES regions. You will ensure that our Asset Management portfolio complies with Grid Code requirements, reporting to the Grid Services and Compliance Manager and working with various internal teams and external stakeholders.
Ancillary Grid Services will be developed by the Routes to Market and Grid Services & Compliance Teams, with delivery coordinated through these teams and the RES Control Centre. The role is technical but requires understanding the commercial aspects of these services.
This position is strategic within RES, focusing on developing Grid Services strategies, increasing standardization, and expanding associated services for the Asset Management business. Key responsibilities include identifying new Grid service opportunities, promoting these services to clients, and maximizing revenue potential, especially with key accounts. You will support and influence support services strategies, develop new services, and enhance RES's market exposure through client engagement and industry participation.
Accountabilities:
* Develop, review, and enhance the Grid strategy concerning renewable assets.
* Monitor changes to Grid regulations, policies, and ancillary services affecting client assets.
* Collaborate with the Routes to Market Team to develop new Grid Ancillary Services, ensuring technical compliance.
* Provide monthly Grid Strategy reports and support the technical review of Grid documentation.
* Participate in regular meetings with internal teams and share relevant information.
* Understand client needs and communicate goals effectively.
* Coordinate delivery of Grid-related services and projects.
* Manage technical queries related to grid connection and compliance.
* Link all Grid activities to client Value Enhancement Plans.
* Identify and manage additional chargeable Grid services, monitoring financial outcomes.
* Lead areas of technical expertise, participate in continuous improvement, and support growth and cost reduction targets.
Additional responsibilities include internal and external engagement, travel, industry event participation, and maintaining knowledge of relevant regulations and technologies.
Qualifications required include a degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, with experience in managing Grid issues on renewable assets, project management, and familiarity with wind, solar, and battery storage technologies.
