Perioperative Practitioner – Anaesthetics and Recovery
Spire Manchester is looking to recruit an ODP/Anaesthetics & Recovery Practitioner, welcoming applications from newly qualified and experienced professionals, to join our warm and friendly theatre team. This opportunity is open to ODPs and Registered Nurses (RNs must hold a recognised Anaesthetics qualification) who are keen to work in a modern, well‑equipped private hospital with a varied elective caseload. Main duties of the job
To provide exemplary planned care for patients and assist in the management and organisation of care provision in the operating theatre.
Job responsibilities
* To provide exemplary planned care for patients and assist in the management and organisation of care provision in the operating theatre.
* Prepare the anaesthetic room for surgery in relation to equipment and supplies required for specific procedures.
* Ensure the Patient Record is completed in a timely and accurate way.
* Perform anaesthetic duties across a range of specialties.
* Support in assessing patients’ health and well‑being across a complex and changing caseload.
* Assist in the delivery of care to meet the patients’ needs in an extremely busy department.
* Prepare the recovery bays and look after patients after their surgery.
* Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
* Work as a Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner.
* Be HCPC registered ODP or NMC (including the Anaesthetic module) registered Nurse.
* Work in teams with minimum supervision.
* Demonstrate competence across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge acquired through state registration/practitioner qualification and additional training.
Who we’re looking for
* Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
* HCPC registered ODP or NMC (including the Anaesthetic module) registered Nurse.
* Ability to work in teams with minimum supervision.
* Competence across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge.
Qualifications
* ODP or RN with Anaesthetic qualification.
Experience
* Newly qualified ODPs will be considered.
