The role of Maximisation Officer - Local Operations will include:
1. Deliver high quality tailored advice and support on welfare benefits, Universal Credit, and income-related entitlements
2. Support new customers with budgeting, benefit guidance, and digital inclusion
3. Maximise income collection while promoting tenancy sustainment
4. Work closely with housing teams and external agencies to ensure residents receive holistic support
5. Assist residents with benefit applications, appeals, and budgeting
6. Identify and support residents at risk of rent arrears or financial hardship, helping them to sustain their tenancies
7. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on outcomes and impact
8. Provide expert coaching and technical support to income staff
Skills and experiences:
9. Experience in welfare rights, income maximisation, income recovery or financial inclusion
10. Strong knowledge of the UK benefits system and housing-related support
11. Excellent communication, negotiation and customer care skills
12. Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
13. Previous experience analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
14. Proven knowledge of relevant regulations, legislation and good practice
15. Knowledge of housing management/debt collection and related issues
16. Ability to work independently in community
17. Confidence using housing systems, Microsoft Office, and digital tools
18. Travel is a requirement of the role; therefore, a full valid driving licence is essential and access to a vehicle

29. Role salary is £32,887 (rising to £34,617 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
