This is a role where it will be 5 evenings a week, weekend work and you will be expected to work over Christmas.
We do not have live in available so you will need to be local and have the ways and means of getting to and from work yourself.
Hillthwaite Hotel is an independantly ran Hotel set between the towns of Bowness and Windermere with views to the fellls and lake. We have 33 bedrooms, Restaurant and Bar.
We like to look after our team as much as we do our guests which has helped us retain a fabulous team.
You will form part of a small and well established management team and your role will be pivotal in delivering a first class service for the F&B activities within the hotel.
You will take responsibility for all the front of house F&B staff, providing leadership, motivation and guidance and ensuring that high standards are maintained. You will draft the staff rotas for your department, ensuring wage costs are effectively controlled and help to recruit and induct new starters. You will have personality and flair and an ability to turn conversations into business with a focus on maximising our diner numbers, upselling and most importantly accommodating our guests needs, leading by example at all times.
Working closely with the Head Chef and Reception Manager you will help to smooth any operational issues between these departments to maximise the guest experience.
You will need to be a problem solver, able to make quick decisions in times of unforeseen challenges and you will need to be confident and positive when dealing with our guests.
You will take responsibility for the restaurant service and take charge of the hotel areas during evening service and in the absence of the General Manager.
You must have previous experience of stock control and stocktakes, dealing with ordering and pricing of stock together with working to financial targets around liquor GP, food and bar revenue and diner numbers.

* Previous experience in the restaurant industry is essential, preferably in a supervisory or management role

* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure

Pay: £32,000.00 per year
