Overview
SCADA O&M Engineer roles in Glasgow or London. Salary from £48,400, up to 10% annual bonus plus benefits. Flexible & hybrid working available. The objective is to strive for excellence in integrity management of the systems under the SCADA and Cyber Security remit to maximise long-term asset value and production revenue. The role supports the development and implementation of new cyber security systems and processes for the business.
We are looking for engaged engineers to provide technical advice & expertise affecting combined OPEX of up to £6m / year. The O&M Engineer is a qualified, experienced engineering professional with good knowledge of SCADA & control systems, information and operational technology and cyber security. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside Iberdrola’s global technical experts.
What you’ll be doing
* Assist with the delivery of O&M works across interfaces on various Scottish Power Renewables offshore projects in the UK.
* Provide technical expertise for offshore operational sites on internal and third-party SCADA and control systems, IT/OT networks, communications systems, SCADA and control room equipment.
* Deliver proactive and reactive maintenance on corporate and third-party equipment such as network switches, firewalls, HMIs and servers.
* Help deliver the company’s cyber security plan with requirements from local regulatory and global cyber security initiatives.
* Provide guidance on O&M solutions / risk levels affecting technical integrity or asset performance to Lead O&M Engineers, Site/Department Managers, external contractors or OEMs to identify cost-effective O&M solutions and reduce risk.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure delivery of O&M works on time, to budget and to quality, following industry best practice and health, safety and environmental standards.
* Document all assessment, advice and recommendations in accordance with internal procedures and industry best practice; ensure due diligence to support business decisions.
* Provide O&M input and support to projects throughout the life cycle and capture lessons learned from offshore wind farm operation and maintenance.
What you'll bring
* Demonstrable experience in O&M delivery within offshore or onshore wind sector; experience managing and resolving technical and operational issues.
* Willingness and ability to travel for business meetings and site visits; may involve offshore travel; fitness level suitable for offshore assets with relevant medical / GWO certificates according to Renewable UK (RUK) and Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standards.
* Essential Skills: considerable experience of control systems, substation automation and SCADA; ability to assess risk in fault finding, maintenance or upgrades; knowledge of control panels, electrical installation, instrumentation and network solutions; knowledge of SCADA applications for power generation and distribution assets; IT/OT networks, systems and cybersecurity; familiarity with networking equipment from major vendors.
* Competence in planning, contracting, engineering support and maintenance; strong communication, supervision and report writing skills; ability to influence and support project decisions; strong organizational and analytical abilities; IT literacy (MS Office and project management software).
* Desirable Skills/Technologies: Siemens WPS/Mysite360, GE DS Agile, intrusion detection systems (Claroty/Nozomi), PcVue, Aveva PI, Microsoft SQL Server; postgraduate wind farm operation experience; knowledge of H&S and environmental legislation relevant to marine/offshore operations; experience with High Voltage Safety Rules; quality management systems knowledge (ISO 9001 / ISO 55001).
