As the council’s sole Planning Lawyer, you will:
Deliver expert legal advice on complex planning matters, including Section 106 agreements, enforcement actions, and public inquiries.
Support high-profile projects that will define the future of East Hertfordshire’s communities.
Advise and guide elected members and officers, with a key role in Planning Committees.
Develop innovative solutions to the legal challenges of a dynamic and busy planning authority.
Work-Life Balance: Work remotely with only one in-person Planning Committee meeting per month. Flexible or condensed hours will be considered.

To excel in this role, you will need:
A qualification as a solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with a valid practising certificate.
Extensive knowledge of planning law, including experience with Section 106 agreements and enforcement actions.
Confidence and clarity in advising elected members and officers and managing Planning Committees.
