Children’s Social Worker – Integrated Front Door & Looked After Children Teams Location: Bolton Organisation: Service Care Solutions Pay Rate: £37.00 per hour (Umbrella) £32.74 per hour (PAYE, inclusive) Contract Type: Initial 3 month contract with ongoing extension opportunities Working Pattern: Full time, Monday to Friday Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of one of our local authority clients within Children’s Services. We are currently seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker to work across the Integrated Front Door (IFD) and Looked After Children (LAC) teams in Bolton. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a well structured service that places strong emphasis on high quality assessments, timely decision making, and effective multi agency working. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload within the Integrated Front Door and Looked After Children teams in line with statutory requirements Complete high quality assessments, including Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries Undertake safeguarding investigations and contribute to child protection planning Work with children who are looked after, ensuring care planning, permanence planning, and reviews are completed to a high standard Prepare clear, evidence based reports for child protection conferences, care planning meetings, court proceedings, and looked after reviews Work closely with partner agencies including health, education, police, and early help services to ensure timely and proportionate interventions Maintain accurate, up to date case records in accordance with local authority procedures and statutory guidance Engage effectively with children, young people, families, and carers to deliver child focused and outcome driven social work Essential Requirements A recognised qualification in Social Work (Degree or equivalent) Current Social Work England registration Recent experience working in Children’s Services, specifically within Integrated Front Door/MASH, Child Protection, and/or Looked After Children Strong assessment, analytical, and decision making skills Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice within children’s social care Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high professional standards What the Authority Offers Competitive pay rate with both umbrella and PAYE options Initial 3 month contract with a strong likelihood of extension Full time role with consistent working hours Supportive management structure and regular supervision Opportunity to gain experience across frontline safeguarding and children in care services Applicants are encouraged to apply.
