This is a fantastic opportunity for a NQ-3 PQE Care Solicitor to join a busy and expanding childcare law team in Barnsley.
The role is ideal for someone with a genuine passion for public childcare law who wants to build their career in a supportive, forward-thinking environment. You’ll work on meaningful cases representing parents and children in care proceedings, helping families navigate some of the most challenging moments in their lives.

Who we’re looking for
4. Solicitor with NQ–3 years PQE in childcare/care proceedings
5. Experience representing parents and families in public law proceedings
6. Advocacy experience or willingness to develop advocacy skills
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills
8. Excellent client care and interpersonal skills
9. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
10. Self-motivated, organised and able to manage deadlines
11. Knowledge of legal aid eligibility and charging structures (Desired)
What you’ll be doing
12. Representing parents and children in public law care proceedings
13. Managing your own caseload of childcare matters
14. Attending court hearings and undertaking advocacy where required
15. Drafting legal documents and preparing cases for hearings
16. Providing high standards of client care and maintaining strong relationships with clients and external organisations
17. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm
18. Supporting the development of the care team and contributing to marketing and business development activity
