An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and polished Travelling Butler to join a prestigious UHNW private residence in Mayfair. Working under the direction of the Head Butler, the successful candidate will deliver impeccable, discreet, and anticipatory service to the principals and their guests across London and international residences. This role requires a refined professional with a strong background in private service, an eye for detail, and a passion for excellence.
Duties:
Butler Service & Guest Care
1. Provide formal and informal butler service to the highest UHNW standards
2. Anticipate and respond to the needs and preferences of the Principals and guests with precision and discretion
3. Deliver seamless service during daily operations, private dining, and high-profile events
4. Ensure a consistent and personalised service experience across all residences
Food & Beverage Service
5. Execute fine dining service, including silver service where required
6. Set and clear tables to exceptional standards, ensuring alignment with household aesthetics
7. Serve food and beverages with precision, timing, and attention to detail
8. Support wine service, including presentation, decanting, and pairing recommendations where appropriate
Wine & Beverage Knowledge
9. Demonstrate strong knowledge of wines, regions, vintages, and food pairings
10. Assist in the management and organisation of the wine cellar
11. Ensure correct storage, handling, and service of wines and beverages
12. Support stock control and inventory management of beverages
Household Operations Support
13. Work closely with the Head Butler and wider household team to ensure smooth daily operations
14. Assist with preparation and service for events, receptions, and formal occasions
15. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service areas, pantries, and dining spaces
16. Support with packing/unpacking and set-up during travel between residences
Travel & Multi-Residence Support
17. Travel with the Principals to international residences as required
18. Ensure all service standards are maintained consistently across locations
19. Assist in preparing properties ahead of arrivals and ensuring readiness for service
Candidate requirements:
20. Proven experience as a Butler within a UHNW private household or luxury hospitality environment
21. Strong understanding of formal service, etiquette, and protocol
22. Solid knowledge of wines and beverage service
23. Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
24. Discreet, professional, and service-oriented
25. Flexible and willing to travel internationally at short notice
