School Cook / Kitchen Assistant (Temp to Perm) Location: Small, friendly school setting Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 2:00pm ( 22.5 - 25 hours per week ) Contract: Long-term temporary with a view to permanent Start/Training: 1-day handover and training available from 2nd February The Role Supporting the preparation and service of meals in a small school kitchen Maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety Working efficiently and calmly within a friendly, close-knit team Assisting with basic kitchen organisation and day-to-day tasks Essential Requirements Enhanced DBS on the Update Service HACCP (essential) NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Catering Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 Food Safety qualification Up to 6 months recent experience in a commercial kitchen (with referee details) Desirable KCSIE (Keeping Children Safe in Education) training Experience in quantity cooking (advantageous, though this is a small school- not mass catering ) Kitchen management skills Adaptability and problem-solving skills Strong communication and teamwork skills Interested?
