This fixed‑term Data Analyst and Digital Infrastructure Specialist – Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) role is a 28‑month position based primarily at Snowdon Timber Products Ltd’s headquarters in Bangor, with support from the Albert Gubay Business School at Bangor University. The role focuses on designing, building and embedding scalable digital infrastructure, data capture and analytics capability across the organisation, leading a significant digital transformation that enhances commercial insight, operational efficiency and data‑driven decision making.
Responsibilities
* Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of the digital and data transformation project, including project governance, milestone tracking and technical documentation.
* Design and implement a scalable data architecture and analytics processes that support product selection, pricing, promotions and stock management.
* Develop, test and deploy analytics solutions that improve commercial insights and operational performance.
* Engage with stakeholders across the business to understand their data needs and translate requirements into practical solutions.
* Collaborate with Bangor University academics through structured supervision and mentoring.
* Build relationships with digital platform and technology providers.
* Support change management, training and knowledge transfer to embed a culture of data‑led decision making within the organization.
* Develop and maintain progress reports, adapt action plans, and ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
* Contribute to the application for and management of relevant organisational accreditations and support a structured R&D pathway for new product development.
Qualifications & Training
* Undergraduate (or Merit postgraduate) degree in data analytics or a related field, or equivalent demonstrable skills/experience.
* Desirable: agile project‑management qualification, leadership or culture‑change qualification, and further qualifications in data analytics or infrastructure.
Experience & Knowledge
* Experience developing, delivering and implementing digital or analytics projects.
* Experience engaging people at all levels of an operation to gather information on project requirements.
* Experience supporting cultural change, ideally with regard to new technology adoption.
* Experience managing stakeholder relationships, producing reports for diverse audiences, and leading sizable projects with complex integration.
Skills & Abilities
* Strong coding skills in Python, R, SQL or similar.
* Expertise in data architecture, database management, cloud systems and user‑interface development.
* Analytical rigor and the ability to select appropriate methods and interpret results.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including written and verbal communication in a wide variety of contexts.
* Agile, flexible approach with the ability to adapt to a dynamic trading environment.
* Strong team‑working, organisational and prioritisation skills, capable of meeting deadlines under pressure.
* Ability to link academic insights with practical proposals for change and to communicate complex ideas to non‑technical stakeholders.
