HSEQ / NERS Compliance Manager – Power & Utilities
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced HSEQ / NERS (National Electricity Registration Scheme) Compliance Manager to take ownership of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance across operations within the UK power and utilities sector.
This is a critical role for someone with a strong understanding of NERS accreditation who can ensure full compliance while supporting operational excellence across design, construction, and commissioning activities.
You will act as the focal point for all HSEQ matters, working closely with internal teams and external auditors to maintain and continually improve standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all HSEQ functions across the business
* Maintain compliance with NERS accreditation requirements
* Act as the primary contact for NERS audits and assessments
* Develop, implement, and continuously improve HSEQ policies, procedures, and systems
* Ensure compliance with ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001)
* Conduct internal audits, site inspections, and risk assessments
* Support operational teams in embedding a strong safety and compliance culture
* Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventative actions
* Liaise with DNOs, ICPs, and regulatory bodies on compliance matters
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in an HSEQ or Compliance Manager role within the UK utilities sector
* Strong working knowledge of NERS accreditation and audit processes
* Experience working with DNOs and ICPs
* In-depth understanding of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards
* Experience leading audits and managing compliance frameworks
* Strong attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-driven approach
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
Desirable
* Experience supporting or leading NERS accreditation applications or renewals
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification
* Internal or Lead Auditor qualifications
* Experience across HV electrical projects or infrastructure delivery
