Lunchtime Supervisor / Mealtime Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: School-based role
Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:30am – 1:30pm
Term Time Only

We are looking for a caring, reliable Lunchtime Assistant to support children during the school lunch period. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys working with children and helping to create a safe, happy, and well-organised lunchtime environment.
You will assist with food service, supervise pupils in the dining hall and playground, and encourage good behaviour, hygiene, and healthy eating habits.
Applicants must be confident and fluent in spoken English, as communication is a key part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and clear the dining hall, furniture, serving counters and food trolleys
* Assist with food service and support children where needed (including use of cutlery)
* Supervise children during lunch and break times (indoors and outdoors)
* Encourage good manners, cleanliness, and positive behaviour
* Supervise classrooms during wet play when required
* Clean dining areas, sweep floors, and manage spillages
* Monitor equipment and report health & safety concerns
* Record accidents and administer basic first aid in line with policy
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Confident communicator with fluent spoken English
* Able to supervise children positively and calmly
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills
* Reliable team player able to follow instructions
* Physically able to stand, lift, clean and move equipment
* Enhanced DBS (the school will organise this for successful candidates)
Desirable:
* Experience working with children
* Experience in catering or food service
Working Environment
* Indoor and outdoor supervision
* Working with food service equipment and hot containers
* Active role involving standing, walking, lifting and cleaning
