Accounts Assistant
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Temporary Accounts Assistant (part-time hours) to support our finance team.
You must be experienced in purchase ledger, credit card reconciliation, and bank account reconciliation with strong organisational skills and a commitment to accuracy.
Hours & Working Arrangement:
Part-time: 25+ hours per week, working days: Monday to Friday
Office based position, must have own transport due to company location. Free parking on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchase Ledger
Process supplier invoices timely and accurately
Resolve invoice discrepancies and liaise with suppliers regarding queries
Prepare supplier payment runs
Maintain and update supplier accounts and records
Credit Card Reconciliation
Collect, check, and process employee credit card receipts/expense submissions
Reconcile credit card statements monthly
Investigate and resolve any missing documentation or discrepancies
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
Monitor cash transactions and maintain accurate cashbook records
Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences promptly
Support month-end closing activities.
Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc reporting and financial tasks
Maintain compliance with internal controls and financial proceduresSkills & Experience
Previous experience as an accounts assistant or similar finance role
Strong understanding of purchase ledger/Bank processes and reconciliations
Proficiency in accounting software - Xero and good MS Excel skills
High accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
