Our Client, a leading engineering and design consultancy, is seeking a Senior Planner to join their team in Bristol, Cardiff or Swindon.
As a Senior Planner, you will play a key role in the successful planning and delivery of complex projects and programmes. Your responsibilities will include:

Creating, managing and assuring fully integrated project and programme schedules, ensuring sound logic, sequencing and a reliable critical path.

Providing planning leadership across bid, mobilisation and delivery stages, offering expert advice on scheduling approach, governance and controls.
*
Producing detailed schedule analysis, including critical path reviews, scenario planning and “what-if” assessments, with clear mitigation options.
*
Integrating programme, cost and risk data to support QSRA activities and broader project controls reporting.
*
Establishing and maintaining schedule baselines and managing change control processes to accurately reflect scope, progress and impacts.
*
Developing clear, high-quality visual and written reports, including progress tracking, variance analysis and Earned Value performance insights.
*
Presenting complex planning information in a clear and concise manner to senior stakeholders, clients and multidisciplinary teams.
*
Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to enable collaborative and outcome-driven project delivery.
*
Promoting consistency and best practice within the Planning function, contributing to continuous improvement and capability development.

Mentoring and supporting junior planners, reviewing outputs and assisting with professional development.
*
Applying knowledge of a range of contract forms (such as NEC, JCT and FIDIC) and understanding their impact on planning requirements, deliverables and reporting.

Working effectively within a consultancy environment, ensuring all outputs meet client expectations and professional standards.
Requirements for Senior Planner:
*
Planning experience on complex or multidisciplinary projects.
*
Strong proficiency with planning tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Open Plan, Asta Powerproject etc.
*
Expertise in developing and assuring integrated project and programme schedules.
*
Experience with schedule risk assessments, EVM reporting and integrated schedule–cost–risk analysis.
*
Strong capability in baseline management, change control and maintaining schedule integrity.
*
Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex planning insights clearly for senior stakeholders.
*
Experience mentoring or supporting junior planners.
*
Broad understanding of project controls disciplines and lifecycle governance.
*
Good understanding of contract requirements (NEC, JCT, FIDIC etc.).
*
Experience in a consultancy environment (advantageous)
