What’s it all about?

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to manage our essential People Services and core Workplace Operations. You will lead a critical team responsible for the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring a credible and efficient shared service. This includes managing complex cases such as long-term absence and AWOL processes, providing expert advice on compliance issues (including Right to Work), and driving a self-service culture through clear, accessible documentation. Your role is vital in providing data-driven insights to minimise risks and costs associated with people management, ensuring our processes evolve as fast as the business does.

A core part of this role is acting as a governance and compliance champion. You will support the People Team's GDPR data ownership, managing Privacy Impact Assessments and defining the standards for accessing and using sensitive employee data. You will personally ensure all Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) are handled accurately and within legal timeframes. In addition, you will lead the Office Support team, overseeing the safety, security, and maintenance of our Head Office. This includes managing supplier relationships, ensuring facility spend is within budget, and supporting colleague social events and annual improvements to the working environment.

This position requires a leader with excellent people management skills and a keen focus on operational efficiency. You will be instrumental in managing internal teams and external supplier relationships, continuously reviewing services for cost-effectiveness and quality. Who will this appeal to?

The successful candidate will bring extensive experience managing service delivery teams within a fast-paced, central HR or shared services environment. Ideally, you will possess a strong understanding of the unique operational challenges inherent in a multi-site, low-cost business model. This broad leadership role requires exceptional management capabilities, demanding someone highly resourceful, flexible, and analytical who can expertly juggle a wide range of activities. While previous experience in a generalist HR management role is advantageous, your core strengths must lie in effective leadership and problem-solving.

Beyond technical experience, we require excellent planning, prioritisation, and strong decision-making skills. You must be an outstanding written and verbal communicator with proven success in developing and mentoring others. Critical to success is your ability to build immediate rapport and strong, influential relationships across all levels of the business through exceptional stakeholder management.
