Project Manager (Heathrow)
Location: Egham / Heathrow (On-site 4 days/week minimum)
Shift Pattern: Includes occasional night shifts (approx. once every few weeks)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 12 months
Hours: 37.5 per week
Rate: Up to £64.00 per hour (umbrella, inside IR35)
IT Access Required: Yes
Notice Period: 1 week (either party)

The Opportunity
We're working with a major engineering and infrastructure consultancy to recruit an experienced Project Manager for a long-term contract role, leading the delivery of large-scale IT infrastructure and telecoms projects as part of a high-profile security transformation programme at Heathrow Airport.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a project leader with strong technical expertise and stakeholder management skills, who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments. The role will be based predominantly on-site at Heathrow (minimum 4 days/week), including occasional night shifts as part of the work with the Tunnels Team.
Your Key Responsibilities
·Lead the end-to-end delivery of high-value IT infrastructure and communication systems projects.
·Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
·Take ownership of project outcomes - scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
·Drive project bidding, resource planning, and commercial alignment.
·Act as the main point of contact for client and third-party engagement.
·Provide robust reporting, governance, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.
·Ensure compliance with HSE, business management, and quality procedures.
·Support work-winning activities and contribute to business development opportunities.
What We're Looking For
·Extensive project management experience in delivering large-scale telecoms or IT infrastructure programmes.
·Strong technical background in Information Communication Systems (ICS).
·Comfortable managing portfolios and multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments.
·Understanding of design, change control, and delivery processes.
·Experience working with major infrastructure clients - Heathrow or similar regulated environments is a plus.
·Confident communicator with proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.
Qualifications & Certifications
·Degree or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline (preferred).
·Project management certification - ideally APMP or PRINCE2.
·Health & Safety qualification (e.g., CDM, APS, IOSH) desirable.
·Valid CSCS card or equivalent is required.
·NEC4 contract experience highly advantageous.
·Chartered status or working towards it would be a plus.
