Head of Governance and Assurance - 12 Months FTC at Mitie. As the Head of Governance and Assurance, you will lead the development and execution of governance frameworks, policies, and procedures across all service provisions on the account. This includes oversight of risk management, compliance, quality assurance, human resources, and financial governance. You will act as a role model for quality and accountability, shaping a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and pride in delivery. UK Wide Role (HMRC Guidelines apply). Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and maintain a robust governance framework with clear accountability and oversight.
* Regularly review and update governance structures to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
* Collaborate with account teams to identify, assess, and manage risk.
* Develop and monitor risk mitigation strategies and controls.
* Ensure adherence to applicable legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
* Lead the development and tracking of compliance programmes and procedures.
* Establish and maintain quality assurance systems.
* Monitor service delivery standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Implement enhancements to quality processes in collaboration with account team.
* Oversee account-level financial governance including P&L ownership, working capital optimisation, and debt management.
* Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and financial reporting.
* Monitor financial performance and support strategic decision-making through financial insight.
* Create and maintain clear, accessible policies and procedures.
* Communicate updates effectively to all relevant stakeholders.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Serve as the primary contact for governance and assurance matters, addressing concerns proactively.
* Produce regular reports on governance, assurance, and financial performance.
* Conduct audits and implement corrective actions based on findings.
* Deliver training on governance, assurance, and financial protocols.
* Promote a culture of quality and compliance across the account.
* Manage succession planning and development for direct reports.
