Applications are invited from enthusiastic, suitably qualified individuals to provide daily administration service support within Cardiorespiratory at York hospital.
The post holder will provide a range of administrative support. The successful candidate will have effective administrative and computer skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Additionally, you should be able to work on your own initiative in prioritising workload and meeting deadlines, whilst also being able to work in a team.
Full in-service training will be provided. The successful candidate will be based in the Cardiorespiratory office within York Hospital.
This is a full time position with usual working hours of Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.
Main duties of the job
1. Undertake administration functions for the department, such as data input, photocopying, filing, letter writing, etc.
2. Undertake accurate recording / inputting and amending of data within Trust information systems.
3. Communicate effectively with the use of tact and diplomacy, and seek to overcome barriers to effective communication. This may require the use of multiple communication methods, such as email, telephone, reception duties, etc.
4. Work collaboratively with the wider departmental team to ensure a consistent and effective service.
5. Actively use initiative within the role but seek guidance when required and appropriate.
6. Assist and support in the development and improvement of the service and in the implementation of Trust and Departmental policies and procedures.
7. Complete all mandatory training required by the Trust and actively participate in personal development.
8. Assist and support the development and training of new team members.
9. Undertake effective prioritisation of own workload and the coordination of activities / duties related to the role.
10. Adhere to all Trust and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
