Location: Boroughbridge Primary School and Nursery, York Road, Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, YO51 9EB

Contract Type: Established, Term Time Only

Vacancy Hours: GTA 27.5 hours per week

MSA 5 hours per week

Monday – Friday 08:30 – 15:30 (with 30 minutes unpaid lunch)

Additional hours in Breakfast Club is available from 07:30.

Salary Range: MSA: Grade AB (SCP 3) – 5 hours per week

Annual Equivalent: £25 621.00

Actual Annual Pro-Rata: £2,928.41

Actual Monthly: £244.03

Hourly Rate: £13.28

GTA: Grade CD (SCP 3) – 26.25 hours per week

Annual Equivalent: £25 621

Actual Annual Pro-Rata: £16 508.00

Actual Monthly: £1 375.67

Hourly Rate: £13.28

Advert Details:

The Governors are looking for an enthusiastic person to complement our hard working and friendly team at Boroughbridge Primary school and Nursery.

The successful candidate will:

• Be passionate about caring for children and young people.

• Meet the qualification requirements to be included in the staff: child ratios at level 3:

hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification that is recognised by the Department for Education as full and relevant at the appropriate level see DFE Qualification Checker

• be a student or apprentice working at the level below the level of study

• have successfully completed the experience-based route.

• Have experience of working with children

• Have knowledge of matters relating to safeguarding of children.

• Have the ability to display positive social skills and encourage good behaviour in pupils.

• Have the ability to establish constructive working relationships with pupils, parents / carers and colleagues.

• Have adequate verbal and written communication skills appropriate to the need to communicate effectively with pupils, parents / carers and colleagues.

Job Purpose:

To work with teachers and other school employees to support teaching and learning by working with individuals or small groups of pupils under the direction of teaching staff, and may be responsible for some learning activities within the overall teaching plan. May work in the classroom or appropriate location within the school, with access to support and guidance as required.

To provide support to pupils including promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion .

The role will include:

• Interacting with pupils in ways that support the development of their ability to think and learn, including the use of careful questioning.

• Communicating effectively with all pupils, families, carers and other agencies.

• Helping support children with their personal, social and emotional development needs.

• Encouraging inclusive and positive play.

• Implementation of appropriate behaviour management and teaching and learning strategies.
